LA, Curated: June 2026

folder_openInspiration, New & Noteworthy

Each month, we’ll continue to share a considered selection of places and experiences across Los Angeles that reflect how environments shape perception and connection. These are not trends. They are signals of where culture, design, and place intersect with intention.

Los Angeles continues to shape how we experience space, both visually and emotionally.

Amiguita — Silver Lake

A neighborhood space shaped by warmth, rhythm, and familiarity.

Set within a long-evolving Silver Lake address, Amiguita brings a new layer to the room. The interior feels intimate and softly lit, with a layout that encourages both conversation and ease. There is a natural flow between tables, where the energy builds gradually over the course of the evening.

The menu draws from Afro-Caribbean influences, balancing bold flavor with a sense of comfort and approachability. Small plates move easily across the table, reinforcing the social nature of the space.

Amiguita feels designed for return.
A place that invites familiarity, where the experience is shaped as much by the room as it is by what is served within it.

3510 W Sunset Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90026. Monday thru Saturday 5pm – 10pm.

California Light and Space (The 21st Century Version) — David Zwirner

Opening Reception | Thursday, June 4, 6–8 PM

Featuring works by Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Sonia Boyajian, Noah Davis, rafa esparza, Jennifer Guidi, Lauren Halsey, EJ Hill, Thomas Houseago, Manuel López, Rodney McMillian, Mr. Wash, Catherine Opie, Hilary Pecis, Lari Pittman, Jason Rhoades, Cauleen Smith, and Lily Stockman.

Organized by Helen Molesworth, this group exhibition considers how Los Angeles continues to shape artistic practice through light, geography, and lived experience.

Expanding on the legacy of the Light and Space movement, the presentation brings together a new generation of artists working across disciplines, each responding to the city’s distinct conditions. From its basin landscape to its shifting light, Los Angeles remains both backdrop and influence.

Less focused on spectacle, the work reflects an ongoing attention to perception, material, and the everyday. The qualities that defined the original movement continue to evolve through the city today.

Backrooms – A film by Kane Parsons

Set within a furniture showroom, Backrooms takes a familiar environment and shifts it into something more atmospheric.

Endless rooms, repeated layouts, and subtle variations in scale begin to alter the experience of space. What is designed for clarity and display becomes disorienting, revealing how interiors guide movement, perception, and emotion.

The film reframes the showroom as more than a place to view objects. It becomes a landscape shaped by circulation, proportion, and arrangement.

A study in how design influences not just what we see, but how we move through and understand space.
